New Art Medium by Fine Artist Deborah Weed

Mixed media artist, Deborah Weed has originated a new art form. By incorporating water from the Atlantic Ocean as her primary medium, she then adds flowers, fruits, glass, found objects and a blending of paints and natural light to create distinctive art on canvas.

There's a show called The Beautiful Life that premiered on the CW about a month and a half ago, and there has only been two episodes published and they haven't been playing any for quite a while now. Anyone know why?

Now here are the top players for 2010 nfl draft.

1. Jevan Snead, QB, Mississippi (JR): He’s a strong-armed junior who has the same type of arm that Stafford has. He will be “The Man” next year. You wait and see.

2. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska: He should have come out for this draft. Watch his Gator Bowl tape against Clemson. He could not be blocked.

3. Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma (JR): Bradford would have been a top 5 pick this year. But he opted to come back. He has a good arm, not a great arm. But he is deadly accurate.

4. Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma (JR): At 6-5, 300 pounds, he has the quickness to be an effective pass rusher. He had 6½ sacks last season.

5. Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida (JR): He’s a long, athletic defensive end who can rush the passer. Those players have great value. He is raw, but at 6-6, 290 pounds he has the size teams crave.

6. Russell Okung, T, Oklahoma State: He’s a 6-5, 300-pound power player who has started the past two seasons for the Cowboys. He also has good feet in pass protection.

7. Eric Berry, S, Tennessee (JR): He’s a rangy safety who also tackles well. He has great speed for a safety, which is why he will be a wanted commodity.

8. Greg Hardy, DE, Mississippi: He was really dominant as a sophomore, but tailed off last season. Even so, he has great pass-rush skills and good size at 6-4, 260 pounds.

9. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas: He has a great command of the Texas offense. His arm isn’t great, but he’s accurate. He can also move around the pocket.

10. George Selvie, DE, South Florida: He’s an edge rusher who can also play outside in a 3-4 scheme. He has explosive speed, which scouts love.

11. Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama: If he gets his weight down — and he has dropped some — he has a chance to be next year’s B.J. Raji. He was too heavy last season.

12. Taylor Mays, S, USC: This big safety can run and hit. There are no doubts about him as a tackler, but he has to show he’s a good cover player.

13. Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma: Gresham can catch and block. He might be a better prospect than Brandon Pettigrew, who went in the first round this year.

14. Ciron Black, T, LSU: At 6-5, 320 pounds, Black has the look of yet another SEC tackle who could go in the top 20.

15. Bryan Bulaga, T, Iowa (JR): He’s an athletic left tackle who comes from a good program for offensive linemen.

16. Sergio Kindle, OLB-DE, Texas: Playing opposite Brian Orakpo, Kindle showed great speed off the edge as well. He can also play outside in the 3-4 scheme.

17. Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State, (JR): Playing in the Cowboys’ spread offense he had 19 touchdown catches last year. He has good size at 6-2, 210 pounds.

19. Trent Williams, T, Oklahoma: With Phil Loadholt at left tackle he played the right side last year. But he will move to the left side in 2009, which will help his draft stock.

20. Jerry Hughes, OLB-DE, TCU: At 6-3, 250 pounds, he led college football in sacks with 15 last year. He will be a perfect 3-4 rush outside linebacker.

21. Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech (JR): He’s a power runner in Tech’s Wishbone offense who runs over and around people. He runs hard.

22. Everson Griffen, DE, USC (JR): He’s been a star in the making at USC since he arrived on campus. This could be his breakout season.

23. Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois (JR): At 6-2, 220 pounds, he is a big receiver who also has good speed. He also excels in the return game.

24. C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson: He has home run speed, but he still hasn’t lived up to the hype yet. Is this the year?

25. Joe McKnight, RB, USC (JR): He’s an explosive runner who was a huge recruit when he came out two years ago. He scares defenses every time he touches the ball. Hasn’t quite put up the numbers many expected.

26. Joe Haden, CB, Florida (JR): He’s a smooth cover corner who has good size at 5-11, 190 pounds. Haden came on strong in 2008.

27. Mark Herzlich, OLB, Boston College: He’s a sure tackler, but he also excels as a coverage linebacker. He was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year last season.

28. Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky: He’s a lean corner at 6-foot, 180 pounds, but he excels in man coverage. former nfl corner Steve Brown is his coach, so he knows the tricks to succeed.

29. Navorro Bowman, OLB, Penn State: He’s had some legal problems that forced him to sit out the spring game last week, but if he plays he has loads of talent.

30. Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama (JR): He plays inside for the Tide, but might be able to play outside as well at 6-4, 250 pounds.

3 Must Have Essesntial Oils to Calm Your Pet

The reason I love animals so much is that they give off an attitude of happiness, innocence and unconditional love to their people. Our pets are just as happy being a part of our household as we are of having them with us.

But sometimes an animal comes into our life that is a bit "out there!" For instance, the dog that has an irrational fear of rain and won't for the life of him go outside to potty during a rain shower. Or the cat who hides for hours when a friend comes over. Or, how about the dog with attachment issues that destroys the house while you're at work? Any of these sound familiar?

My cat's, Sammie and Max, love to hang out on our screened-in patio. But whenever the garbage truck comes rolling in, they flee for their lives! It might sound crazy to us, but whatever your animal's fears or wacky behaviors may be, they are completely legitimate in their minds.

Using essential oils on your animals can really take the edge off of their anxiety, big time! Because of an animal's heightened senses, they respond very well to essential oils. In the wild, animals eat specific plants to heal themselves. In captivity (our homes), the plant kingdom is not readily available.

Using essential oils on your pet gives them access to the vast healing properties of nature.

The three best essential oils to calm your pets are:

Lavender

Roman Chamomile

Peace & Calming® (a blend from Young Living)

These essential oils can be used to support your animal with; fear of rain and thunderstorms, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, trauma/abuse, depression, Illness, trips to the vet's office, grief/loss of another family pet and any other situation that causes great stress for your animal, such as garbage trucks!

When you apply essential oils to animals, always remember less is more as animals are very sensitive to essential oils. Also, with animals, it's best to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil such as organic olive oil. I recommend one part essential oil to 1 part carrier oil for all animals EXCEPT cats. The dilution ratio for cats is 1 part essential oil to 10 parts carrier oil.

Use caution with cats!

Any of the essential oils listed in this article are safe for dogs and horses, however; cats are a different story! Cats are extremely sensitive to essential oils containing phenols, such as oregano and thyme. Cats can not effectively metabolize phenols because they lack an enzyme in their liver to digest the phenols. Avoid Peace & Calming® essential Oil Blend on your cat, as it does contain phenols. How to apply essential oils on dogs, horses and cats:

For calming dogs:

Mix 1 drop Lavender, Roman Chamomile or Peace & Calming® essential oil with 1 drop carrier oil. Rub this mixture on your dogs pads, ears or comb through their fur. Apply any time you sense your dog is stressed.

For calming horses:

For calming cats:

Caprica Review - "Reins of a Waterfall"

The highly anticipated early season regular Caprica, the aptly titled "Rebirth", seemed to do an admirable job of setting the tone as a science fiction version of "Dallas." The characters we were introduced to the pilot immediately sprinted to take the road to their destinies, as if already lining up outside a pistol starters. We saw the avatar Zoe Graystone to accept being trapped in a robot body. Daniel and Amanda Graystone have been grappling with the fallout of the terrorist act that killed their daughter. William Adama began his apprenticeship with his uncle executor crime, while Joseph, his father came to regret the missed opportunity to see her daughter again avatar.

The subsequent episode, "reins of a waterfall," continues to cement the way the characters are intense below. (Warning - spoilers front) Specifically, the request of Joseph Adama to his brother Sam to kill Amanda Graystone irrationality seems to introduce a cold to a character who, until now, had a strong moral compass. Joseph is, after all, who first interviewed Daniel Graystone on the morality of creating an avatar of the daughter of Joseph to start. It seems surprising that he would now resort to violence to get another chance to spend time with the virtual Tamara.

But that's the beauty of Caprica. Writers, as they did on Battlestar Galactica, not afraid to inject realism into their other-worldly characters. While we would normally assume a moral, pragmatic man as Joseph Adama expected to react to his struggles in a little more rationally, the tragic events of the last of his life are pushing him into a completely different direction, and far too human: irrationality. It begs the question: what would you do if you lost your family?

This, in turn, puts it at odds with Daniel Graystone. Graystone, headlining the cold logic is a bit more successful in maintaining the comedy he has his feelings under control. However, cracks are beginning to appear subtle in this front, as he stubbornly refuses to yield to the demands of his underlings that engage in public relations activities to restore the image of the company. And while he finally capitulated, his faith in his idea that his daughter was really still force to eventually face a harsh reality, he did not know.

Zoe Graystone story arc is well positioned in front of others. As the face of the franchise, the public should follow events through the eyes Caprica Zoe. A character of the man who created the first online avatar of itself, is the journey of this digital alter ego that must be our vehicle throughout history. Yet for some reason I found her less interesting journey of all. Perhaps the idea of a non-human personality of being trapped in a non-human body is a little to sympathize with, even if it is not without potential.

The series was conceived as the "beginning of the end" of the Twelve Colonies. Based on the events of "reins of a waterfall, the beginning is on track.

How to turn chrome motorcycle parts to a satin finish?

I used a green scotch brite pad on some scrap chrome parts and the satin finish looks good, but there are scratch marks when light hits a certain way. Is there a way to get rid of the scratch marks?

Try Mother's Chrome and Aluminum polish with a small buff pad (like one for a 3/8" drill or dremmel tool.) The more you buff, the smoother it gets and less marks. On the down side, you will probably never get all scratch marks out. However, it will shine like satin.

Do you consider a dutch gag to be a harsh bit?

Yeah I know a bit is only as harsh as the hands behind it blah blah blah, I just mean do you consider it to be one of the stronger bits? Say your horse ran through a snaffle, would you ever consider using a gag? Because I've seen a couple of answers that implied that it was really harsh... It's a really popular bit in the horsey scene around me and though it's obviously stronger than a snaffle, I never thought of it as being particularly cruel when used with soft hands... Is it?

Surely when the reins are on the big ring then the bit would only be as strong as a hanging cheek? It has the same degree of leverage?

Pleeeasee don't give me any lectures about retraining and Natural Horsemanship and whatever else- I don't even ride in a gag, my horse is in a snaffle and I wouldn't put him in anything stronger. I'm just wondering if people consider gags to be quite harsh..

A dutch gag is the same as a 3 ring gag btw, not sure what everyone calls it so just to clarify

I suppose that if you are attaching the reins to the large ring like you mentioned, it would be just as mild as a baucher snaffle like this: http://compare.ebay.com/like/140421567378?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar . That's very mild. And I suppose you could ride it with 2 sets of reins, one on the big ring for a snaffle effect, and the other rein on the bottom ring for a leverage effect.

But nobody uses a dutch gag like that! Most people I've seen are using a single rein on the bottom ring, which provides quite a bit of leverage. Or using 2 reins but hauling on both of them equally. I would not call any leverage bit a "mild" bit, but I suppose as leverage bits go this is not terribly harsh. I've used the Dutch gag when I used to exercise polo ponies and really liked it. When you're out galloping in an open field to condition them, sometimes you need more than a snaffle. Sorry but saving my life is more important than being mild on the horse's mouth. I found the dutch gag had a much softer feel than something like a pelham. The horses went well in them, but of course I was not trying to ride on any contact or put the horse in a frame. I rode on a loose rein unless I really needed brakes. While I think every horse should be ridden in a snaffle for flatwork and basic training, but I can certainly see situations where a stronger bit is needed and I think a dutch gag is not a bad choice.
