How do you put a D ring snaffle back on a bridle?
I have a show tommorow and I was cleaning my bridle and totally blanked on how to put the D ring snaffle back on!! HELP!!!!!!!
Hi It's Nanette again. First of all, sit down and take a deep breath, one of the reasons your pony is probably getting ahead of you is because you are nervous and to a horse or pony that translates as danger. All English Riding show bridles are pretty much the same. Where you attach the bit to the bridle you will see a piece of metal shaped like an L, only it will be on its side. There will also be a piece of leather that holds it together. Give the end, after you have taken it out of that little holder and pull hard, then slip the metal L off, by pulling it towards you. Voila, do the same on the other side and you have it made. Just make sure that you put it on correctly so it is easier to do it on the floor to make sure that the joint in the bit goes upwards to his mouth, so that when you give him a que to stop, he will. Also give it a good cleaning, and it is put back the same way you took it off, and don't forget to slip the end holder through the little on it side square holder for your pony.
