The Problem with Breasts and Sport
Any fit active sportswoman knows that when she jogs, swims, plays basketball or throws, she could experience a number of painful problems associated with her bra and breast comfort.
Sports bras have been around since 1977 largely because the problems associated with regular bras had some serious complications and they limited ease of movement whenever athletes were required to raise their arms above their shoulders and heads.
Over 50% of women report some degree of discomfort or pain when exercising in regular bras. There is chaffing, riding up, pulling on the shoulders and neck pain. Tingling in the arms and shoulders is also reported as well as back ache and breast pain. Research has shown that if proper support of the breasts is not catered for, then damage to the ligaments of the chest can ensue.
The embarrassment and discomfort that come from ill-fitting or non-use of sports bras is simply not worth the pain for many women. That is why the sports bra has come a long way in 40 years. Not surprisingly though, for a long time the level of support in these as was less than desirable. However, these days many sports bras utilise the extra support of materials such as lycra to give added support and reduction of movement.
In sports that require ?maximum control? such as in horse riding, jogging and boxing, a sports bra of the best quality is required. In stores of course, it is often difficult to find anything that does not fit in the average range. Online of course, there is greater variety of every kind to choose from.
Specialist online bra and lingerie outlets such as www.tjmaxx.com.au have all the sports bras needed to support women in pursuit of the most demanding of sports. It?s not always easy to find a place that has the variety, the range of sizes, the array of brands and the privacy of purchase. Super achieving sportswoman Roberta G. of NSW has this to say. ?How hard is it to buy a sports bra that does everything it is supposed to do? Very hard it seems. I have walked all over shopping centres and visited lots of ?specialist? stores and have still come away without the support and comfort of a sports bra that I can trust will do its job when the going gets tough. I compete in marathons all over the country and if the bra isn?t right, then it can ruin the whole event for me. I don?t have time to be fussing with straps, angles, adjustments, bras that ride up or cut me under the arms. Shopping online has changed all of that for me. I wouldn?t even think of buying from a store again. Just not worth it.?
For privacy, greater variety of styles, sizes, types of sports bra and great online service, it?s easy to see why more and more sports women are choosing to buy online. Their needs are respected, their wants supplied and their choices fulfilled. A great new way for them to shop.
