How to Train a horse to Lead Properly

A horse should be relaxed before it can be dealt with properly. A trainer will certainly have a difficult time trying the ways on how to train a horse to lead if it is not cooperative. And if a horse is not properly trained to lead, it can be aggressive and dangerous. So, a trainer has to exert perseverance and patience in order to successfully train his horse to lead. To do this, he must get a lead rope and a fitting halter first. Then, he must catch his horse and place the halter on it. However, he must make sure that it is the right size for his horse.
Then, he must get the lead rope and begin touching his horse with it. He must pull it crossways the back of the horse and its hindquarters. Next, he must try to walk along with his horse. But he must ensure that this move on how to train a horse to lead is done with adequate carefulness. He must not be forceful when asking his horse to walk. Then, he has to turn to his left or to his right sharply and let his horse go around if it refuses to follow him. In this way, the horse will not be scared yet it will learn to follow orders.
The trainer must lead his horse toward a spot wherein his horse is unfamiliar with; because if it is very comfortable with its surroundings, it might not participate in the training. It must also be lead in a few directions that include sharp turns, back ups, and forward movements. Then, it must be stopped on different spots by pulling it downwards. But if it refuses to follow this move on how to train a horse to lead, the trainer may apply pressure on its nose to grab its attention.
