Ear Headstall

I have noticed that everybody in the local shows is using a bridle with a One Ear headstall and was wondering if it counts off if you use a bridle with a regular browband. Also, when banding a mane, should you pull it or cut it before banding? Thank you!
No it shouldn't. The judges shouldn't be judging what the horse is wearing they should be judging the horse itself and how suited it is to the discipline, not the tack. It should be cut and pulled to about 3-4 inches long. Hope that helps.
